Chapter Two

For a few days, Nikki behaved fine. She came home by midnight, was a bit more respectful, and even did her chores without being asked. However, about a week later, she decided to come in late, and she smelled of alcohol. I couldn’t believe it.

When she got home, I was standing by the door with her father’s belt dangling from my hand, and my arms crossed in front of me.

“It’s two forty-five,” I told her as she walked through the door.

“So what?” she slurred. “Kelly and Mandy said I shouldn’t have a curfew, I’m over eighteen.”

I noticed her eyes travel toward the belt, and they widened. I stared at her without saying a word, and I used my fingers to make the belt swing intimidatingly.

Finally, I said, “I’m sick of this, Nikki. I told you, if you live under our roof, you will obey our rules.”

“You know I can’t move out!” Nikki argued. “I don’t have any money!”

“Then you will obey our rules until you get a job and get your own place,” I told her. “That is non-negotiable.”

“I’ll call the cops if you touch me again!” she spat, waggling her finger defiantly in my face. “I’m over eighteen, so it’s assault!”

I reached behind me and snagged the cordless phone off its cradle, thrusting it into her face.

“Here you go!” I challenged her. “Call them! I’ll tell them how you’ve been drinking at only eighteen years old, and how you stole money from me last week. Would you like that?”

Her angry expression softened slightly, and she mumbled, “No.”

“That’s what I thought,” I said. “Now you have two options at this point. One, you get your ass in there and bend over that couch and I’m going to teach you a lesson on what it means to obey your parents. Or two, you get upstairs, pack your shit, and get the fuck out of our house right now.”

“Dad would be really mad if he knew how you’re treating me,” she said bravely.

“Funny you say that, because at twelve thirty, I called him and told him you were late again,” I told her. “I also told him what I did last week, and that it got you to behave for a few days. He said that since you behaved for a while and went right back to your bad behavior, perhaps it was time for a stronger punishment.”

“What?” Nikki gasped. “No! Daddy wouldn’t do that!”

“Nikki, he’s just as tired of your behavior as I am, and he’s worried that if we don’t do something, you’re going to end up in jail or dead,” I said. “Now what’s your choice? Spanking, or moving out?”

She opened her mouth as though she was going to say something rude, but she slowly closed it again. Then she sighed heavily.

“Spanking,” she muttered, her eyes turning down toward the floor.

“Let’s get this over with,” I said.

Nikki reluctantly walked toward the couch, stopping by the arm. She froze, and I waited patiently for a moment.

“Panties down, now,” I directed her.
